BROMLEY HIGH STREET

Our second major project in Bromley town centre, following our planning consent for Elmfield Road in spring 2021, our site occupies a prominent position at the south end of the High Street, opposite Bromley South Station. Bromley has seen much change recently, where an increasing civic ambition has combined with the pressing need to respond to an onerous housing supply to alter the skyline, increasing height and density. This makes the need for a high quality architectural response all the more important. Our proposals, for a residential tower and ancillary blocks also includes the reprovision of Class E space. The tower is positioned to the south of the site, near the railway; the design is evolving through pre-application engagement with the local authority to respond more closely to the townscape context, particularly the relationship to the High Street.

The high degree of regularity, architectural articulation and surface variation of our design concept intersects with the simplicity of the volumes to create an elegant and tall building that successfully breaks down a perception of excessive massing. A car free development in a highly sustainable location, the development will provide an excellent mix of unit sizes and will provide a bar and sky terrace with a loggia offering views from the top of the building looking out over Bromley and beyond, open to members of the public.
